Why Digital Media 'like' Rix Petroleum's first ever social media campaign

Rix Petroleum have been socially caring for its customers for more than 80 years and this ethos remains as strong today as it has always been. To communicate more effectively with its customers, help build brand awareness and start social conversations, Rix Petroleum have recently entered the virtual world of social networks.

To help launch Rix Petroleum's first ever social media campaign, Why Digital Media have developed a series of socially-focused games, interactions, online raffles and competitions customers and social friends can enter online for free.

Marketing Manager at Rix Petroleum, James Brook commented and said "We wanted to have a bit of fun in the social sphere where we could give something back to our customers, Why Digital Media have been excellent in creating a number of tools and resources that we can use across a number of social platforms."

To kick start the social campaign off, March 2013 sees the launch of the 'Rix Petroleum £200 Heating Oil Discount Free Prize Draw', where social friends are encouraged to 'Like' the new Rix Petroleum Facebook page. 'Liking' gives users a chance to take part in a free prize draw that is fully integrated into Facebook making it easy for users to click, like and enter.

Head Designer at Why Digital Media, Lee Craggs, commented and said 'It was important that we had the flexibility of running the free prize draw to the client brief whilst working hand in hand with Facebook's strict competition and promotion terms and conditions."

To increase people's chances of winning, the Facebook free prize draw is structured so that if entrants share the page with their own friends, they instantly get additional entry tickets into the free prize draw.
